Since 2013 Chris LOth has been producing wines under his one-man-band label CLO. CLO is a small representation of Chris' handy work, but more importantly it’s a large representation of the single vineyard sites in which the wines come from.

Moving from the Mornington Peninsula to the Yarra Valley and onto the Hunter Valley, Chris has now opted for the premium, cool climate fruit from the high altitudes of Tumbarumba, NSW. He works closely with the growers in the region to optimise the quality of the fruit and is fastidious in the cellar to represent this fruit to the best of his ability.

The winemaking is all about attention to detail without manipulation or compromise. This means no additions, natural ferments, no fining or filtration, and only occasionally a little SO2 at bottling if need be. Chris also believes that good wines take time to come together, so he leaves his wines to age in the cellar for long periods of time before bottling, sometimes up to 2½ years!

There are two labels in the CLO range. The 'box label' is the flagship of the range and the 'face label' represents the creative side of CLO as Chris experiments with different styles and technique according to vintage, always pushing the boundaries.
