La Bollina - Piedmont, Italy

La Bollina
Alessandria, Piedmont. Italy
by Marco Roveda, Andrea Zampieri and Franco Fierri

In a region where famous red wines overshadow white varieties, La Bollina produces high quality wines that express the peculiarities and charm of the terroir with a focus on Gavi DOCG production from the Cortese grape. This persistent quality is achieved in a modern winery, equipped with the most efficient technology available.

The winery is situated in the centre of the Gavi region located within Alto Monferrato, of which the red wines bare the DOC distinction, on a vast estate once owned by the Marquises Figari of Genoa. The property covers 120ha of rolling hills and chestnut woods with just 28ha being dedicated to vineyards.

Balance, freshness and varietal expression are the main qualities of the bottles produced. Qualities that arise from a combination of the environment and attentive winemaking, forming a sophisticated range of wines from one of the most celebrated regions of Italy.
